On the finca we've seen roe deer, wildboar, mongoose, foxes, badgers and martens. Salamanders live by one of the irrigation tanks and there are otters in the river. The birdlife is equally rich - ranging from nightingales, bee-eaters, golden orioles, hoopoes and kingfishers to vultures and eagle owls. Genalguacil is close to the main migratory routes; sometimes in the spring and autumn large flocks of raptors fly over.
